Chairman David Price and Congresswoman Norma Torres Visit Astrophysics Research Center (ARC)

Astrophysics CEO François Zayek and COO Mark Zayek were honored to host Chairman David Price and Congresswoman Norma Torres at the Astrophysics Research Center (ARC) in Ontario, CA on Monday, September 13, 2021 to discuss U.S. manufacturing and the future of x-ray technology.

During the visit, Astrophysics demonstrated the revolutionary Multi-View CT (MVCT) air cargo scanner and the HXC-LaneScan™ vehicle inspection system. The MVCT™ can process air cargo pallets in x-ray or CT mode, capturing multiple views and compiling them into a full 3D reconstruction, which can be rotated 360 degrees and analyzed using our exclusive image processing tools. The MVCT™ enables airlines to quickly scan air cargo at a similar level of inspection as carry-on and checked baggage, to ensure passengers are safe on the ground and in the skies. Astrophysics engineers also highlighted the HXC-LaneScan’s imaging capabilities that allow operators to inspect the smallest detail on cars and trucks, including the trunk, wheels, and undercarriage. Compact and powerful, the HXC-LaneScan generates the clearest, highest-resolution images of any vehicle scanner on the market. Both systems are designed and assembled in California, and are currently deployed at high profile transportation sites both in the U.S and abroad, including John F. Kennedy International Airport, London Heathrow Airport and Philippines Bureau of Customs ports. Astrophysics’ continued innovation facilitates the safety and security of global trade.

Congresswoman Norma J. Torres, of California’s 35th Congressional District in the Inland Empire which includes Ontario, Bloomington, Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Pomona, and Rialto Visiting our facility from North Carolina, David Price is the only member of both the House Appropriations Committee and the Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee. He also serves on the Subcommittee on Homeland Security and the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs.

Astrophysics’ focus on innovation drives us to develop revolutionary x-ray technology solutions that push x-ray imaging technology forward and keep security forces one step ahead of threats. As an American manufacturer and international company, we are grateful to both Chairman Price and Congresswoman Torres for their interest in Astrophysics and their support of American enterprise and ingenuity.

“Astrophysics was honored to host Chairman Price and Congresswoman Torres to showcase our significant developments in x-ray imaging technology: the Multi-view CT (MVCT™) and HXC-LaneScan™. We are proud to design and assemble these products locally in California, promoting US manufacturing and American ingenuity. Astrophysics continues our twenty year legacy of innovation, facilitating the safety and security of global trade.” –François Zayek
